HK Audio Cohedra Festival Successes
For the fourth time in a row, rental company Pave used HK Audio at the festival Rock im Park this year. The Alterna Stage of this festival - which together with its associating event Rock am Ring is the biggest German Rock and Pop festival with about 100.000 visitors every year - was sound-wise completely set up with a HK Audio Cohedra system.
The Alterna Stage is the second biggest stage of the Rock im Park festival. it is an open air stage that has a capacity of 25.000 and features artists of many different musical styles. In 2007, bands such as The White Stripes, Machine Head, Type O Negative, Mia, Wir Sind Helden and Jan Delay were playing in the venue. For so many different styles, a multilateral sound system is required, and Wolfgang Geisler, CEO of Pave, was very satisfied: “The Cohedra has optimally covered all resulting demands on the sound system! The feedback we’ve got from the many diverse FOH engineers was outstanding great!
“Positively mentioned was especially the minor sensitivity for wind, the high coverage and the high fidelity also at high acoustic pressures. We are using the system always at a top acoustic pressure level of about 108 dB/A at the FOH stand, which is sufficient for all requirements.”
The high flexibility of the Cohedra makes the system particularly interesting for rental companies like Pave. Therefore, Wolfgang Geisler is also using the same sound system with huge success at the Klassik Open Air in Nuremberg, the biggest Open Air for Classic Music in Europe with about 70.000 visitors every year: “We will use the Cohedra again this year,“ says Geisler. “The biggest problem within the first years was to convince the two orchestras to accept electrical sound amplification. We indeed have succeeded in this after a lot of legwork - especially by using the Cohedra since 2004 with highly improved features regarding the irradiation onto the stage, our work with the orchestras and their musical directors has become a lot easier. Also I must mention the phase coherent of the system which is consistently a great acoustical experience!“
