Singapore Fireworks Celebrations Sparkled with grandMA

As part of its National Day celebrations, Singapore holds an annual Fireworks Celebration. This year for the first time it took place in Marina Bay Stadium, and the celebrations featured several local and foreign teams who launched some spectacular fireworks - 130 varieties were shown over two days.
Lighting design for the event was by Low Wee Cheng and Jonathan Sin, using one grandMA full-size, one grandMA light, and two MA NSPs. In addition, grandMA 3D and MA Lighting’s visualiser software, was used for pre-programming because of the limited set-up time available on-site.
Jonathan Sin said: “Having just two days of set-up and programming time, we had to rely heavily on grandMA onPC and grandMA 3D to pre-program the show. When we loaded in on-site, there was some further delay due to rain. We could only program and touch up parts of the show live and make use of grandMA 3D to visualise the rest of the fixtures while the crew worked hard to get everything ready. Both grandMA software tools proved extremely useful.”
Pirotecnia Igual from Spain and Lidu Fireworks Corporation from China performed their firework art on the two evenings. Amongst other equipment the lighting rig included 40 MAC 2000 washes, 28 DTS XM1200 spots, four DTS Arc 1200s, 24 Syncrolite SXB-5/2Ds and 12 Vari*Lite VL3000 spots. Altogether six DMX universes were used.
Showtec Communications Pte Ltd. delivered the lighting equipment.
