Smoke Factory Back at PLASA for 2007

Smoke Factory of Hannover, Germany, has been regarded as an "innovator in fog" for almost 20 years. Their first appearance at the PLASA Show was in 1990, followed by hundreds of successful UK installations, from major West End musicals to the Imperial War Museum.

Florian von Hofen, owner of Smoke Factory, comes from a practical special effects and touring background himself and as a result has always concentrated on developing equipment for live and touring professionals. Many of his innovations have become features of fog machines today: transportability, 0-10V control, radio remote control, DMX interfacing, flow control and “permanent ready” function to name just a few.

Reliability and a serious after sales service have made Smoke Factory one of the most reputable smoke machine manufacturers in the world. In its home market Smoke Factory machines are an industry standard for any rental company. Europe’s largest rental company, Procon, has recently standardised on “Captain D” as their fogger of choice. The decision was reinforced by the safety certification achieved by Smoke Factory.

Smoke Factory is the world's only fog machine manufacturer to have gained safety certification for their machines, their fluid and ultimately the fog created. Hundreds of samples were taken and analysed as part of the certification process with the result of government approved safety for machines, fluid and fog. This is clearly an incredible help for the specifiers of fog machines in the light of any concerns of artists or clients.

At PLASA 2007 Smoke Factory will be taking advantage of the new hall, Earls Court 2, and will be exhibiting current products as well as some surprises at stand H76 adjacent to their new UK distributors, Lighting Partners.

Smoke Factory founder, Florian von Hofen commented: "Lighting Partners are the kind of people we love to work with; competent, professional, experienced, responsive and well connected. They take the job very seriously but always with an element of fun. As a team we all know exactly what we're doing; we are not only moving boxes, we know our product and have experienced almost every possible application ourselves. We believe that this makes the difference, and we will put all our love and passion into the UK market in order to convince every single client."

With 25 great distributors all over the world working closely with the ‘Made In Germany’ manufacturer, there are still many countries desperately seeking good and committed local distribution partners.
