Stage Electrics’ Courses on ‘Home Soil’ Prove a Hit
Stage Electrics’ technical theatre training courses which including PAT Testing, Moving Lights Masterclass and Stage Rigging & Flying, held at The Cork Opera House this summer proved very popular.
The company worked closely with technical manager of the Opera House Chris Gaughan to arrange the courses. Chris is very keen to facilitate training for Irish theatre technicians that take place on their ‘home soil’.
Staff from venues all over Ireland attended, including The National Theatre of Ireland - The Abbey, The Everyman Palace Theatre in Cork, and also from production houses in Donegal and Killarney.
John Finnegan of The Abbey commented: “The training was very informative. It was eloquently delivered in a relaxed and friendly environment."
“This was a chance for me to improve and learn new skills; my rigging knowledge has increased immensely," added Alex Gatowski of AVC Hire.
"The response to these courses has been fantastic,” concluded Sara Alarabi, Stage Electrics’ training manager. “We have been asked back next year to run more courses and look forward to doing so. In the meantime our programme of courses in the UK continues to grow with a record 16 scheduled in October, including our accredited PASMA Tower course."
