Successful PLASA for White Light and Friends

White Light - and the members of the White Light family of manufacturers that the company distributes in the UK - had a hugely successful four days at the 2007 PLASA Show in London in early September.
Leading the move into Earls Court 2, which the PLASA Show expanded back into this year, White Light created more than just a conventional stand: a White Light Zone featuring White Light itself and ELC DMX Tools, LDDE, Look Solutions, LSC, Rainbow, Robert Juliat and Wireless Solutions.
Notable events in the Zone included the launch of the new Robert Juliat Victor 1800W MSR followspot presented by Francois Juliat, and the new Redback dimmer from LSC Lighting presented by LSC’s Gary Pritchard. In addition ELC marked the milestone of supplying their 2007th FocusHand/Brain hand-held remote in the year 2007 by presenting the unit to the 2007th customer, Stuart Lodge of Wimbledon High School. In addition, the unit’s first customer, the Royal Albert Hall in London, was presented with a complimentary upgrade to the latest specification; this was received from ELC’s Silvio Cibein by Ollie Jeffery and Richard Thomas from the Albert Hall. Wireless Solution also marked the sale of their 10,000th wireless DMX product during the show. LDDE, manufacturer of bespoke dimmable fluorescents and LEDs, also raffled an X-pen DMX tool for every day of the show in a ‘lucky business card draw’. Winners ranged from as far a field as Essex and Nigeria.
In addition, White Light marked the forthcoming retirement of sales veteran Jack Exell with a presentation by David Morgan and John Simpson. Jack, a popular industry figure since the early seventies, has work for a number of lighting institutions of note, including Action Lighting, Lighting Technology and Cerebrum, all in a sales capacity. He’s been working at White Light for the past two years and will be missed by all generations of lighting people.
Staff from every area of White Light’s work - including lighting hire, sales and service for theatre, live events, corporate productions, parties and much more - were on hand throughout the show, discussing the ever expanding hire and sales stocks. Key items on stand included the new White Light Snow Machine and the new VSFX projector created by Robert Juliat and the spectacular AquaSermo water effects system, which attracted the attention of many show visitors.
As ever, the White Light Bar proved a popular focal point of the show, the perfect place to not just learn about new products, but to conduct the more important trade show business - catching up with friends, colleagues and gossip!
