The Event Show Attracts Record Business for 2008

The Event Show has announced dates for next year’s exhibition as the 23rd and 24th January 2008 at Olympia in London. The Show is experiencing unprecedented advance business for exhibitors with bookings for space up 40% up on the same time last year.

Michelle Tayton, manager for the exhibition said: “The Event Show has continued to grow in stature and what is particularly exciting is the number of new exhibitors who have booked for 2008. Whilst re-bookings are high, we are always keen to attract new suppliers to keep the Show fresh and to offer our visitors new and unusual ideas for indoor and outdoor event organisers.”

One of the new exhibitors is Creative Media Techniques (CMT Ltd) a company specialising in slide projection, 3D animation, lasers, imagineering, digital video and water effects for special events. CMT provided a five-night projection campaign onto London’s Marble Arch, which became the canvas for a projection promoting the “Ultimate Kylie”album release. The image was projected with a 7000 Watt Xenon slide projector and had the slide artwork sized exactly so that it would fit onto the proportions of the arch. Drivers travelling north up Park Lane were warmly greeted with the alluring face of Kylie beaming back at them. CMT also provided laser special effects for Kylie’s Showgirl Tour.

Richard Hawkins from CMT explains why they have chosen to exhibit at The Event Show as opposed to any other trade show: “This is the first time we have chosen to exhibit anywhere, but we felt that the sort of people that go to The Event Show are right for our business and the exhibition is more fun than other shows targeting the events industry. We are the best kept secret in the entertainment and events industry and the fact that we will have a stand in the Innovation Zone is perfect placement for us as we have a unique range of revolutionary products for those involved in the indoor or outdoor events industry.”

Following on from the continuous success of the seminars and Access Sessions at The Event Show, the organisers are increasing the number of presentation rooms from one to two for 2008. These should once again be attracting ‘full houses’ with high profile speakers that in the past have included Glastonbury’s Michael Eavis, John Probyn from Live Nation and Andy Young from the 02 Arena.

The LIVEstage will be promoting the very best in stylish and unusual live entertainment for corporate events with many artistes appearing who have never been seen before at any other trade exhibition. Some of the entertainers lined up to perform on the LIVEstage have appeared alongside major named artists including P Diddy, Gnarles Berkely and Ronan Keating, taking the level of performers into a different league for the 2008 exhibition.
