Wybron to Launch Distributed Dimmer and Power Supply Unit at PLASA 2007

Wybron, Inc. has announced that it is launching the DPS-850, a distributed dimmer and power supply unit that provides an 800 watt dimmer and 50 watt power supply, at PLASA 2007. The DPS-850 is a standalone distributed dimmer that is ideally suited for retrofit installations or remote locations.

“We created the DPS-850 especially with the small to medium theatre and houses of worship in mind,” said Miles Dudgeon, director of marketing at Wybron. “These users are frequently housed in historical or older buildings and often do not have the ability to add what could be significant new wiring for centralized dimming. To simplify the adoption of our Nexera and other products, Wybron’s DPS-850 will bring dimming to the fixture so there is minimal need to run new circuits and control wiring.”

The DPS-850 is fully Remote Device Management (RDM) compatible and interfaces with the Wybron InfoTrace Control and Management System to provide ease of installation and maintenance.

“One of my favorite features of the DPS-850 is that it will send an RDM alert if the lamp blows or the load changes abruptly, instantly letting the board operator know when there are problems,” added Dudgeon.

Wybron will launch the DPS-850 and demonstrate this new product at PLASA 2007 in PRG Distribution’s booth #G69 in Earls Court 2 in London between Sunday, 9th September and Tuesday, 11th September.
