Associations at ARC Show
The ARC Show, taking place at the Business Design Centre, London on February 11th - 13th 2008, will incorporate three different events by the most important trade associations in the lighting industry – the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), the Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) and the Institution of Lighting Engineers (ILE).
The IALD Enlighten Europe 2008 conference will take place on February 12th and 13th at the Business Design Centre and will feature a selection of the best speakers in the lighting industry.
The ILE’s London and South Eastern region will be holding their technical session at the show on February 12th and all are welcome to attend. There will be a range of interesting topics during the session including Sharon Stammers, PLDA UK coordinator who will talk about the Light Fantastic; Theo Paradise-Hirst, Max Fordham who will discuss the application and art of external lighting design; and Alistair Scott, Designs for Living who will give a short report on Competency Requirements for Lighting Design Staff.
The SLL Young Lighters of the Year 2008 will take place at the Business Design Centre during the Preview Evening at 4pm on February 11th. The competition provides a unique platform for young lighters, whether Society members or not, to address a lighting subject dear to their hearts, to practice their presentation skills and to win the considerable professional kudos of being chosen as a ‘Young Lighter of the Year’ as well as add the title to their CV.
