Infringing Shop Selling Fake DBX Graphic Equalizer Products Raided by Police
A police raid team from Amphur Muang Chiangmai Police Station, led by Police Colonel Udom Promsurin, Deputy Commander of Chiengmai Provincial Police Region 5, accompanied by investigators and a raid team from Quantico Ltd., successfully raided an infringing shop situated on Changklan Road, Tambon Changklan, Amphur Muang, Chiangmai Provice, Thailand.
The preliminary investigation discovered allegedly counterfeit DBX products being sold in the shop. Under the search warrant of the Chiangmai District Court, the police raid team and members of Quantico Ltd. seized a large number of various models of fake graphic equalizers in various models bearing the trademark ‘DBX’. The estimated value of the seized goods is more than THB 1 Million.
The counterfeit products were seized and delivered to the Amphur Muang Chiangmai Police Station for an extensive investigation and prosecution. The infringer was charged with criminal offences under the Trademark Act and the Penal Code, and may be liable to a civil lawsuit by Harman International Industries, Incorporation for damages.
In response to this seizure, Harman International Industries, Incorporated, the legitimate owner of the DBX trademark, released a statement from its international sales manager David McKinney, who expressed satisfaction at the outcome of the raid, and praised the raid team’s efforts. “We are greatly concerned about the distribution of counterfeit DBX products, and will act diligently to enforce our rights under applicable laws,” said McKinney.
“Harman International Industries, Incorporated is not prepared to tolerate the presence of fake DBX products in the market, and is engaging in a broad campaign against infringers.” The spread of fake DBX products in markets throughout Asia is a major problem for consumers. McKinney went on to say, “When consumers unknowingly purchase fakes, they are deprived of the high-quality goods they deserve.”
