Martin LC Series Panels Make Greek Debut on Arion Music Awards

Greek lighting designer George Tellos turned to the brightness and ease of Martin LC Series LED panels on a recent live broadcast of the 2007 Arion Music Awards. The star-studded extravaganza, which honors Greece's top musical artists, was broadcast October 29th on Mega Channel from Taekwondo stadium in Athens.
“The main idea for using the LC Series was to establish a 3D look for the stage and the LC panels fit perfectly in our application – size, configuration and transparency,” comments Tellos.
Tellos lists several reasons for his choice of the LC panels: brightness, saturation, quick and easy setup, and wide angle viewing. “I was impressed with the brightness and the resolution of the LCs,” he states. “Also, the way of setting up and configuring the system is very easy. The construction is robust, which is very important for touring and when you add in the transparency effect, then the only creative limitation is your mind!”
The LC Series is a semi-transparent, modular system of LED panels, ideal for displaying video and images. For the Arion Music Awards the panels were placed peripherally at floor level and used as decorative cover for the front of the stage. A Catalyst media server was used for live thru on stage and took feed from Martin Maxedia PRO media servers. Video content was fired from a Martin Maxxyz lighting console. More than 100 moving lights were used on the show including 70 Martin MAC 2000 profiles as well as 12 Martin Atomic 3000 strobes.
The Martin LC panels were supplied by Martin’s Greek distributor, Panou Audiovisual S.A. Tellos acknowledges their support: “Many thanks to Joanna Moulou and Michael Kontogiannis of Panou for their support and for the opportunity to be the first in Greece to use the LC panels.”
