Void Acoustics Makes an Impact with Install and Touring Systems at Prolight + Sound

Void Acoustics, designer and manufacturer of advanced professional audio systems for the installed and live sound markets, will be showing its recently-launched Waveform System loudspeakers on Stand No: D46 in Hall 8.0 at this year's Prolight + Sound (Frankfurt, 12 - 15 March). Alongside the Waveform range, Void Acoustics is spotlighting its Air Series loudspeakers with the Air Motion and Airten systems, together with the Stasys point-source and Arcline line-source high-end touring systems.

Void's loudspeaker designs focus on a powerful combination of sonic and visual impact, with a track record for creating the maximum result with the minimum number of enclosures. Void is also hosting a one-night extravaganza - The Void Bunker Party - in a central Frankfurt nightspot on Thursday 13th March, giving its acclaimed Air Series a major workout with a number of high-profile acts.

Uniting sculptural aesthetics with technical innovation, the Waveform System progresses the company's radical design direction. It comprises the Waveform 10 full-range system, constructed from a fibreglass-Kevlar composite, and the folded-horn Waveform S bass unit, which provides additional low-end weight down to 34Hz, for larger clubs and dance floors.

Void's Air Series currently includes the company's signature design, the triple-horn Air Motion system with its 12", 8" and 1.5" transducers, each loaded by a separate isometric conical horn. The Airten is a two-transducer mid-high loudspeaker, featuring a fibreglass-Kevlar, twin-nacelle design. The Air Motion and Airten are complemented by Void's Paraflex 640 and 360 low-frequency systems, which are designed to work in pairs for large-system coverage of the entire low-frequency spectrum.

The Stasys series point-source touring system is designed for medium venues to the largest-scale stadium events. The series comprises the Stasys 3 V2 mid-high enclosure, incorporating Void's unique Waveformer technology, and the Stasys 4 foldback monitor, which is also designed for FOH deployment in smaller venues. These units are complemented by the Stasys 8 horn-loaded sub, and the Stasys X wide-band horn-loaded sub, which uses five resonant chambers, extending the response down to 35Hz, and maximising both efficiency and long-throw projection.

The Arcline system is a line-source, arrayable and highly versatile touring system, which includes the Arcline 6 and Arcline Sub enclosures. With its construction utilising a curved baffle, to give its multiple transducers a common virtual feed-point, the Arcline 6 array creates a consistent, cylindrical wavefront. A typical system can be configured in minutes from two Arcline 6 enclosures, ground-flown on Void's proprietary wind-up stand, mounted on top of four stacked Arcline Subs.

The Definition Project is scheduled for launch by Void Acoustics at Prolight + Sound. A new Touring Class Amplifier, it is the first in a series of products resulting from Void's Definition R&D project. The amplifiers are being designed and produced at Void's new UK-based manufacturing facility.

The Void Bunker Party, the highlight of Void Acoustics' appearance at Prolight + Sound 2008, is designed to give an invited audience the chance to hear Void's Air Series in its natural environment. Sound will be provided by T2's Artic Disco System from Portugal, in addition to high-profile live acts, with the sound system for the evening using Void's Air Motion System. The party is open to all show visitors and media, with tickets distributed on a first-come/first-served basis. To register, visitors can visit the Void Acoustics exhibition stand at Prolight + Sound and collect their ticket.
