Blackout Create for Elle Magazine 20th Anniversary Celebrations
Working for production company OBO, Blackout had extensive creative involvement in the 20th Anniversary celebrations for Elle Magazine held in Berlin'sTempodrome.
Production director Stefan Santoni asked Blackout to provide a 20 metre high circular tent - 5m diameter at the top widening to 12m diameter at the bottom. The outer fabric of the tent was made from 21 strips of purple velour lined with specially dyed yellow trevira. The bottom of the tent was flown on cue, resembling a hanging flower, to reveal the performance space upon which were two fashion shows and concerts by Annie Lennox and Sharlene Spiteri in honour of Karl Lagerfeld.
Blackout also provided three of their new carbon-fibre roller-screen systems with front projection materials. (These screens were 4m widths but the system is capable of widths up to 14m.)
Stefan Santoni commented: "Blackout¹s professionalism and inventiveness came to the fore once again to interpret the set designer's vision creating a stunning visual look."
