Panasonic Projectors get Interactive in Bluewater!

Two interactive floor technology systems featuring Panasonic PT-D10000 projectors have been installed to create a dynamic advertising medium in Bluewater, the UK's largest shopping centre.

Digital Out of Home specialists Visual Interactive Promotions (VIP) were approached by Bluewater to install their interactive projection solution, specifying Panasonic projectors with the interactive technologies to create a completely immersive entertainment and advertising opportunity within the centre.

Robert Kneller of VIP explained: "I always use Panasonic projectors for all my installations as they are the most technologically advanced option to overcome the ambient and fluorescent light present in the shopping centres we work with. Their lamps give advanced warning when they are running low and can send an email which is perfect when your installations are across the country."

The two systems installed by VIP are being used as advertising space featuring messages from both the shopping centre and sold to brands looking to reach the huge footfall within centre. Visitors are attracted to the advertising by the visual and audio ripple effect walk that appears when they pass across the floor area.

The systems feature an infrared camera, visual interactive software and a 3D graphics computer, as well as a Panasonic PT-D10000 projector which projects the interactive floor to create the bright floor imagery.

Robert continued; "With almost every projection system in a retail environment, we have to overcome light issues and not all projectors have the strength to do this. We needed to use a 10,000 lumens projector that could be easily installed and requires minimal maintenance."

Unique features of Panasonic projectors such as the robotic filter mechanism allowing the projector to remain in situ for longer, with cleaning required only after every 2000 hours make them an increasingly popular choice for retail and digital signage applications."
