Fohhn's Linea LX Series Now Shipping in the UK
Systems Workshop Distribution has announced that Fohhn's new Linea LX line source speakers are now shipping in the UK. The LX-100 and LX-150 models are the latest additions to the German manufacturer's elegant Linea directional speaker series. The aluminium-housed, weatherproof units can be wall mounted for permanent installation, or used as part of a freestanding indoor or outdoor PA system.
Each LX-100 speaker has a power handling capability of 400W at 8 ohms, housing eight 4-inch speakers and a 1-inch compression driver with waveguide. The larger LX-150 has a power handling capability of 600W at 8 ohms, housing 12 4-inch speakers and a 1-inch compression driver with waveguide. Both models include two Speakon sockets and an 8-way Phoenix terminal strip per unit.
Fohhn's line source speakers have been specially developed for locations with difficult acoustic conditions and long reverberation times, such as churches, museums and conference rooms. Their defined dispersion characteristics mean that sound is transmitted directly to the audience, while reverberations from the floor and ceiling are significantly reduced, improving sound quality and speech intelligibility. The speaker's elegant design is suited for installation in both modern and historic buildings.
The LX-100 and LX-150 speakers can also be used for mobile sound applications in combination with Fohhn's XS and XSP ranges of DSP-controlled active and passive subwoofers. System configuration can be done remotely from a laptop using a Fohhn Net adapter and Fohhn Audio Soft software. The software's intuitive interface enables all connected Fohhn devices with integrated DSP to be monitored and controlled from a central point, allowing the adjustment of cross-overs, delays, EQ, compression and the recall of saved location presets.
