Inaugural evenTech Ireland a Success
The inaugural evenTech Ireland (18th-19th November), held at the beautiful and historic Royal Dublin Society Halls, Dublin, has provoked a very satisfied response from exhibitors and visitors alike. Key elements held up for praise were the quality of visitors as well as potential business from the show. A dedicated entertainment and installation technology showcase, it was pounced upon by exhibitors as a unique platform from which to launch Irish business, as well as to consolidate business links and relationships within the region.
Edwin Whelan of Avcom, the major Dublin-based AV and staging rental operation, said: "Of everything, the show brought us one important contact that would not have been possible if it were not for the show. Also, it was a very successful event for interaction with our industry colleagues and was invaluable for the links that were re-enforced or re-made."
Murt Whelan of Murt Whelan Sound, encompasses the general feeling of exhibitors: "I have to say that evenTech was a truly positive experience. We launched our new Midas Pro6 Digital console at the show which received a very positive response. We had a constant flow of visitors who all gained hands-on experience of the products and we received a number of bookings for 2009 whilst developing good working relationships with some of the other exhibitors."
Andy Austen-Brown of KV2 Audio confirmed evenTech had brought the company quality options: "As an exhibitor, I was pleasantly surprised as to how well the show was organised - the team had done a lot behind the scenes to make it easy to get in and out. evenTech really reflected the good quality business there is to be had in Ireland - and as a result we're are beginning negotiations to instate a dealer in the region."
OutBoard Electronics' Dave Haydon, commented: "evenTech provided a great opportunity to announce Mosco as the new TiMax distributor in Ireland. We chose them for their long-established experience in live events, theatre and high end installation projects."
Exhibitors Just Lite secured the Avolites distribution in Ireland. Avolites' commercial director, Steve Warren, stated: "We are very excited to work with Just Lite. Their long history as Ireland's premier rental house enables them to supply the high standards of training and product support that our customers deserve and evenTech was the ideal launch pad for this new cooperation."
Mark Parkhouse of Trantec said: "We did very well from the show - we signed up a new deal with Rea Sound as preferred distributor. The venue was great and we met a really wide audience with our newest product the S5 - that's the difference which smaller shows make."
John Jones of Lift Turn Move, agrees, "I always enjoy my visits to Ireland, as well as being a very productive show for enquiries; we met lots of new contacts. evenTech was very useful for us - I am sure we will return in 2009."
Stuart Thompson, CUK: "Overall it was a good show. The Irish market is very important to the growth of CUK and somewhere we'll focus our attention over the coming months and years. We were pleased at the response we got and our association with the evenTech brand is one we'll continue with for some time."
Buoyed by the success of the third regional networking exhibition in the evenTech series, show organiser, Darren Brechin, affirms: "Our initial ideas for the format of the show have now been realised through the positive response from our exhibitors and the calibre of the visitors. We reached both our exhibitor and visitor targets and this is a direct reflection of the need for a dedicated show for Ireland."
evenTech Ireland 2009 is scheduled for 12-13 November and will once again be held at the RDS in Dublin. For more information please visit www.eventech-ireland.com
