Night Riviera Sleeper Installs Latest Entertainment Technology
A first-of-its-kind on-train entertainment system will soon be provided to passengers on First Great Western's Night Riviera Sleeper. The Volo In-Train Entertainment System (ITES), is similar to the systems currently available to business class air travellers, which give passengers access to hours of on-demand TV.
Operating between Penzance and London Paddington, the Night Riviera Sleeper will be the first train in the country to offer its customers Volo TV, which will be available in single-occupancy Sleeper berths.
From late December 2008 Passengers will be able to choose from a wide selection of TV programmes including Comedy, Drama, Documentary, Family/Kids and Sport. They will also have the ability to pause, rewind and fast-forward programmes!
Neil Micklethwaite, Acting Commecial Director, First Great Western, said: "By installing this ground-breaking entertainment system on our Sleeper service, in addition to the £2m invested into refurbishing and improving the train's facilities back in June, it demonstrates our commitment to offering our customers the highest standard of service and comfort onboard our trains."
Micklethwaite added: "Providing successful implementation, we hope to roll out the entertainment system across First Great Western's entire high speed train fleet."
