Sama Prosound Provides QSC ILA and Network Processing for Multipurpose Korean Hall

The Main Hall of a Korean high school has been equipped with an ILA Installation Line Array system from QSC Audio, who have also supplied all the amplification and network processing.
The rectangular, multipurpose hall at the Daesung High School in Seoul needed a versatile system that could cater for the diverse range of school activities - ranging from its use as a gymnasium/basketball court, to hosting entrance and graduation ceremonies.
The old system had deteriorated badly and Sama ProSound Co. Ltd., QSC Audio's Korean distributors, were brought in to respecify the system.
Sama ProSound felt not only that the ILA's compact footprint and attractive external design complemented the interior design of the main hall, but that its unique vertical array attributes would allow an optimum dispersion pattern from the tightly spaced speaker arrangement. Furthermore, by excluding some of the mechanical characteristics from the higher-cost touring versions, the ILA system offered obvious price advantages, and was thus considered the perfect solution.
The WL2082-i enclosures were flown above the stage, three per side, with a WL115-sw subwoofer completing each array.
Because the school preferred not to place monitor speakers on the stage, an AcousticDesign AD-S82 was mounted high on the upper left and right sides, to be used as dedicated monitors. The AD-S82 was chosen because of its light weight, compact footprint, durability - and its 60° x 90° pattern, making it a perfect choice in this role.
The QSC speaker arrangement was matched with QSC Audio's ISA series amplifiers, with three ISA750's and single ISA150 and ISA280 assigned to the system.
Every point in the signal chain - from mic input to speaker output - is controlled through QSC's DSP 322ua digital network device, designed to operate over Ethernet under the company's QSControl.net platform; at the same time, this enables a system engineer to control the entire set-up in real-time.
Said Sama ProSound engineering manager, Carl Park: "By installing QSC's premium products such as amplifiers, speakers and network audio system in the Daesung High School Main Hall, we were able to optimise the sound and guarantee both compatibility and stability."
The school also expressed satisfaction with the newly-installed audio system, stating: "The sound is so remarkable that it is hard to compare this with our previous audio system. In future, various other events are expected to be held in our Main Hall - purely because of the new audio system."
