Two Industry Luminaries Honoured with ABTT Fellowships

In the Grand Saloon of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, at the ABTT's annual Christmas Party hosted by ETC on 12th December, the Association honoured two of the theatre industry's leading artisans.

Mark White, ABTT chairman, called upon Clare Ferraby to introduce and present the Fellowship of the Association to Peter Roberts, and Alan Russell to introduce and present the Fellowship of the Association to theatre consultant Iain Mackintosh. The presenters ably described how both Peter Roberts and Iain Mackintosh richly deserved the honour being bestowed upon them, as it is only given to individuals who have rendered significant service to the technical aspects of the art of the theatre.

Nick Allott, managing director of Cameron Mackintosh Ltd and a director of Delfont Mackintosh Theatres, said: "When Cameron Mackintosh acquired Delfont Mackintosh Theatres, along with two magnificent buildings, we were lucky enough to acquire the services of Bernard Delfont's legendary stage manager, Peter Roberts. For over ten years, Peter revitalised and ran our technical department whilst at the same time managing a new company, Cameron Mackintosh Consultants Limited, working on restoring old and building new theatres across the globe. His vision and experience was an irresistible and irreplaceable combination and it is entirely appropriate that he should be honoured so by the ABTT."
