Audi Relies on CT Germany Worldwide

For the fifth time in a row, Audi AG is relying on the professional media technology of the international full-service provider CT Creative Technology Germany for its international automotive shows and press conferences worldwide.

CT provided the professional AV technology for Audi AG’s exhibition stand and international press conference at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2007 and the Los Angeles Motor Show in November 2007. These two projects were carried out in cooperation with Showtec Cologne. It required considerable logistical planning and the deployment of personnel and material for these shows which directly followed one another on different continents, and this was carried out successfully.

The CT team provided all of the technology from the internationally available rental park and was on site with its technology team of audio, video and broadcast specialists. Brilliant pictures were provided in particular by the new highlight in the CT rental park, the 6 mm LED Hibino LVD-638B32 Black Face, as well as several 103” plasma displays from Panasonic and Barco FLM HD 18 DLP projectors. The HD servers DVS Pronto HD2K were used as the source for the HD displays. The HD-compatible openWARP combiner in 1920 x 1080 resolution was used for triple HD

rear projection from an angle of approximately 45 degrees from above onto a curved surface.

Four Sony HD HDC 1500 camera sets, a Polecam and complete HD production system with the SD and HD-compatible digital Kahuna vision mixer from Snell & Wilcox were used for the transmission of the press conferences of Audi AG and Volkswagen AG. The satellite transmission of the press conferences was produced in 4:3, 16:9 and 4:3 letterbox formats. In addition, the professional audio equipment from Meyer Sound with Meyer line array systems provided excellent and balanced sound reinforcement at the stand. CT was also responsible for all of the audio technology for the press conference at the Motor Show in Los Angeles.

At the beginning of January this year CT made a successful start to the new automotive show year of 2008 as a systems supplier for all of the audio and video technology for Audi AG in Detroit. For the press conference on the first day of the Detroit Motor Show 2008 the tried-and-tested mobile HD production system was used again by CT with the multi-format compatible Snell & Wilcox Kahuna vision mixer. Several HD cameras recorded the presentation of the new Audi TTS and the new Audi R8 V 12 TDI concept live and the signals were transmitted again around the world by satellite. For the press days the high-contrast and extremely colour-neutral 6 mm LED wall from Hibino was also used again. The highlight of the press conference’s live act was the appearance of Bryan Adams.

For the complete sound reinforcement the audio team from CT again relied upon the established line array systems from Meyer Sound, as well as the installation of countless UPA, UPM and USW active loudspeaker systems from Meyer. In addition to the many 50” plasma displays in native HD resolution with input from DVS Pronto HD 2K systems, LED strips were specially built due to customer demand with OLite 510 LED modules from Barco and were used for the exhibition stand.

In the future Audi AG’s upcoming international automotive shows in Geneva (March 2008) and in Peking (April 2008) will again be equipped by the team from CT, again in cooperation with Showtec and responsible for all of the audio equipment and video technology for the exhibition stand at the Auto Salon in Geneva.
