La Luna in Maubeuge Equipped with Stagemaker Chain Hoists

Rigging company ICRC and the Stagemaker SM5 electric chain hoists were selected for the new stage installations in the La Luna multi-purpose hall located in Maubeuge. The compactness and reliability of the motors proposed by Verlinde made all the difference.
The La Luna multi-purpose entertainments hall, in Maubeuge, has a capacity of 1200 persons seated, and standing room for 2000. All types of shows are produced there including plays and concerts of classical and modern music. To respond to the ever-increasing and varied requirements for stage effects, the hoisting equipment had to be completely renovated and modernised. The bid put in by the integrator ICRC, comprising 57 SM5 Stagemaker chain hoists under the Verlinde brand, was selected. "The solution proposed by ICRC, with the Stagemaker equipment, was very interesting in terms of size and weight and it corresponded exactly to the requirements of the various occupants of the hall and the type of shows produced there. The quality/price ratio was also very good." Said Mr. Platteau, technical manager of the Manège Hall, the main occupant of the La Luna hall.
The chain hosts handle 20 metal structures arranged around the stage, 28m wide by 16m deep. These structures are used as attachment points for the lighting units, the scenes or again the loudspeakers. Two groups of two chain hoists are installed on the IPN on each side of the stage to obtain mobile lateral structures. These chain hoists are installed on trolleys which can move up to 6m from each side to the centre of the stage, so as to be able to produce effects hiding lights or scenes. The front metal structure is also adjustable over a distance of 8m in relation to the front of the stage. All the 57 chain hoists are supervised by a safety controller which can control all of them simultaneously.
