Smoke Factory Back in West End

Smash hit musical Mamma Mia! has marked the return of Smoke factory into the West End with exclusive use of its fog and haze products.

Lighting Partners, UK distributor for Smoke Factory, led the switch-over project in collaboration with Smoke Factory’s German HQ, PRG Europe and the Mamma Mia London production team to swap some 11 machines for eight Tour Hazer II’s and three Data II fog machines.

The Tour Hazer II is a 1600W DMX controlled hazer built into an Amptown flightcase and the Data II is a 2600W DMX controlled high emission fog machine; both units are amongst the most popular models in the Smoke Factory range and have recently obtained BGV-C1 certification from the German authorities to show that the machines, the fluid and the fog they produce have no adverse health effects.

Speaking about the project David Morgan of Lighting Partners commented: “Since taking on the Smoke Factory distributorship in 2007 we have worked hard to re-establish the brand in the UK – this tie-up with one of the biggest shows in the West End is testament to quality, cost effective ownership and safety of the machines.”

Smoke Factory’s Florian von Hofen added: “We are extremely happy and proud that, due to the efforts of Lighting Partners, Smoke Factory has become the equipment of choice for Mamma Mia! in the UK. The quality of our German made equipment has been known in the West End for many years, and the health certification of our fog and haze systems have now made them even more attractive, especially for safety conscious clients.”

Julian Stoneman, executive producer for Mamma Mia!, adds: “The Mamma Mia! production team is extremely pleased with their new Smoke Factory machines with positive feedback from everyone involved.”
