Turbosound Brings a New Aspect to the Forum
As well as exhibiting a raft of new products on Stand 8.0 A42, Turbosound will be demonstrating the power and clarity of its acclaimed Aspect series of arrayable point-source loudspeakers at the prolight+sound Live Sound Forum from 12th – 15th March.
Flown clusters of Aspect TA-500t enclosures will feature on the Live Sound Forum stage adjacent to Hall 10 each day, accompanied by the concert touring TSW-218 sub. “This is the first time we have participated in the Live Sound Forum,” says Turbosound’s Martin Reid. “We’ve decided to take advantage of this opportunity at prolight+sound to present the full point-source array capabilities of Aspect 500s in a real-world outdoor situation.”
The TA-500t is a trapezoidal, switchable bi-amp/tri-amp three-way enclosure with integrated flyware containing a 1” HF driver on a Polyhorn device, a 10" MF driver on a Polyhorn device and a Turbo-loaded 15" LF driver, and covers the frequency range from 60Hz to 20kHz.
All drive units employ neodymium magnets to keep the cabinet’s net weight to a very manageable 57kgs (125.4lbs), and the TA-500t is supplied with a detachable, stackable wheelboard to aid handling and trucking. Its sharply defined 50°H x 25°V dispersion pattern focuses energy on audience areas with minimum overspill, and allows the creation of clusters with seamless arrayability.
The TA-500t is part of the Aspect series of modular point-source products that are in constant use worldwide and have received accolades for their sound quality with David Gilmour, Kings of Leon, Maximo Park and at the world-famous Roskilde Festival.
The TSW-218 is a highly efficient horn-loaded concert touring subwoofer, which contains two neodymium 18" LF drivers on TurboBass devices. The birch plywood cabinet is equipped with flush handles, steel grille, locating feet, heavy duty wheels and Speakon NL4 connectors.
Turbosound will demonstrate the Aspect TA-500t with TSW-218 subs in three 20-minute slots at 10.40, 13.20 and 16.00 each day of the exhibition.
