XL Video Wins TPi Award

XL Video has won its fifth Total Production International Award (TPi) for ‘Favourite Video Services Company’ of the Year.

The 2008 TPi Awards – which recognise the industry’s most innovative and ambitious technical, creative and production achievements – were presented at London’s Grosvenor House venue on February 17th

The win follows an incredible year for XL Video worldwide, and was collected by members of the XL Video UK team. XL Video also won this coveted award in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2007.

XL UK’s Chris Mounsor comments: “This is a very important award as it is entirely voted for by our industry colleagues, and is certainly the most prestigious production award in the UK – if not worldwide. It is open to entrants from the US and Europe, and this year we had stiff competition from the UK, USA and Holland. Winning is entirely due to the hard work and professionalism of? all our colleagues and clients and that of the crews using our equipment and representing us on ‘The Front Line’.”

Video wise, XL has worked with some of the most aesthetically daring artists throughout 2007, including Muse, Genesis “Turn It On Again”, Roger Waters, George Michael, Take That, Snow Patrol, Scissor Sisters, Faithless, The Kaiser Chiefs and many more.

On the corporate events side, XL has also been incredibly busy, involved in many memorable projects like the opening of “High Speed 1” and St Pancras International Station (the new Cross Channel Rail Link and the UK’s new Eurostar terminal) and the launch of Cunard’s newest liner, the Queen Victoria .

MD Lee Spencer adds, “This award is an accolade to all the staff of XL for their hard work throughout 2007. Without their dedication and loyalty we would not be able to achieve the high level of success that we are currently enjoying”.

Additionally, Ruary MacPhie who regularly works with XL Video, won the ‘Video Director of the Year’ Award. His work last year included the phenomenal Genesis “Turn It On Again” tour as mentioned above, and Kylie’s “Showgirl Homecoming” tour, with XL UK also supplying the video equipment and crew.
