Alcons’ Fifth Anniversary at ProLight+Sound
At ProLight+Sound 2008 in Frankfurt Alcons will feature a showcase of new developments and also celebrate its 5th anniversary.
Following the enthusiastic response on last year's preview of the ‘Phitom’ design study, a new design prototype called ‘R-Ray’ will be on this year's Alcons stand. This evolutionary concept is a possible implementation of the excellent (cylindrical) arrayability of Alcons' proprietary pro-ribbon technology into a modular array concept, that can be used for both horizontal as well as vertical ‘point-source’ clusters.
A next-step extension of the unique L-series pro-ribbon line-arrays will be presented. Offering the throw, intelligibility and coverage control of the already famous LR14 and LR16, it now has different applications than those already served, due to the different form-factor. It’s a logical extension and again a very useful tool for the discerning sound designer.
The previously announced LR14 pro-ribbon line-array with 90°x15° dispersion will be on show, as addition to the LR14 line-array. Identically equipped as the LR14, but with the 800W RBN401 pro-ribbon HF driver on 90-degree wave-guide, the LR14/90 is designed for (even) longer throw and controlled projection in more narrow venues.
After fivers in Alcons' portfolio, the BF302 has been re-designed and re-tuned into the double-chambered BF302 (mkII) bass system. Through double 15" with vented double spider, in combination with higher tuning, dedicated chamber design and Alcons' proprietary Signal Integrity Sensing pre-wiring, the BF302 delivers very tight and increased bass power response.
Of course, other new developments will be on show, as well as a selection of existing Alcons products. This includes the QR36 ribbon-array columns, as recently installed in Red Bull's Hangar-7 Austria and in Theater Solingen, Germany a.o.
Tom Back, Danielle and Carsten are really looking forward to meeting you in Hall 8 booth number E36!
