HK Audio Premium PR:O Series Goes Active
Having been designed for the working musician, the Premium PR:O series has gained a reputation for versatile modular ability and impressive sound quality. Now Premium PR:O offers even more flexibility; in addition to the existing range of cabinets, all models are also available with an integrated Class-D digital power amp, putting out 600 watts RMS. Incredibly, this only adds an extra 1.5kg to the overall weight, thanks to HK Audio's innovative internal cooling system.
Powered components have been carefully designed to match the tonal qualities of the passive versions, by delivering an extremely powerful and natural transparency in voice reproduction. To facilitate the use of both powered and passive components in one system, the powered cabinets are equipped with a parallel 'speaker out' which allows another passive cabinet to be fed.
The powered Premium PR:O series combines easy handling with professional features. All full range cabinets come with gain and tone (music – speech) controls and a Mic/Line switch. Furthermore, the integrated active stereo crossover in the Premium PR:O 18 Sub A makes system expansion even easier. The exceptionally light weight and energy efficient digital power amp is equipped with an RMS/peak limiter and a subsonic filter, providing maximum dynamic headroom as well as optimal component protection. Another onstage safeguard is the V-Lock Power Plug which secures the power cord against inadvertent detachment.
The Premium PR:O series comprises two full range cabinets, featuring a 1” driver with 60 x 40° horn and a 12” (PR:O 12) or 15” (PR:O 15) chassis; in addition a bi-functional, feedback resistant cabinet (PR:O 15 X) can also be used for monitoring. The PR:O 18 Sub subwoofer, equipped with a specially-designed system crossover, and the PR:O 12 M floor monitor complete the range.
All cabinets come with professional plywood enclosures and offer stage-proven features as the HK Audio DuoTilt pole mount (not on PR:O 18 Sub and PR:O 12 M) and ergonomically shaped and positioned handles for easy transportation.
