The Brit Cricket Ground Receives a Branding Overhaul

The legendary London cricket ground, The Brit Oval has commissioned event branding experts Sunbaba to re-brand their renowned stadium. Sunbaba overprinted 355m2 of specialist Ultramesh to create a tailored branding solution.
As the UK’s most prestigious cricket ground, The Brit Oval has played host to some of the world’s most exhilarating international matches including the 2005 Ashes Test Series, which saw England victorious for the first time in 18 years.
Contracted by the Brit Oval’s operation director, Sunbaba was asked to create screens, which were designed by the venue’s advertising agency CMW, to dress the storage areas at the stadium, as well as branded advertising banners to line the stadium concourse inside of the ground. Fixed to the fences running along the stadium, the screens had two objectives; to advertise the stadium’s facilities, and to disguise the storage areas of the cricket ground.
The innovative branding means the stadium’s advertising space can be used more effectively. Targeted corporate messages are now featured around the stadium to highlight services available from Surrey County Cricket Club, such as the conference facilities on site.
Sunbaba’s technical director, Trevor Booth explained: “To hide the view of any storage spaces and without restricting the stadium staff, the screens were individually measured to ensure precision and accuracy when hung. Working with installation specialist GESS Ltd, the screens were hung on new fittings, installed and could be drawn back effectively when necessary.”
Carl Partridge, the Oval’s operations director commented: “With a project like this, the preparation process is as important its execution, and Sunbaba ensured that from beginning to end, everything was accurate, and the level of customer service was of the highest standard.”
