W-DMX Wi-FiCompanion & Configurator at ProLight+Sound and USITT
Wireless Solution Sweden AB, with its Generation3 W-DMX products released in March 2007, was the first manufacturer to offer a Wi-FiCompanion mode that allows interference free wireless DMX distribution in environments with W-LAN/ Wi-Fi and other RF equipment. The Wi-FiCompanion effectively segments the spectrum between W-DMX and other wireless systems and ensures successful coexistence of two or more radio systems in the same space.
Anybody with a W-DMX system can now easily take advantage of the sophisticated setup and fine-tuning facilities that Generation3 offers. The W-DMX Configurator consists of a PC application and a USB interface that gives the user effortless access to the W-DMX Wi-FiCompanion modes and other features like output power settings. The W-DMX Configurator offers a well organized graphical user interface with basic settings that even the novice will feel comfortable with, as well as an advanced mode that enables access to functionality for the seasoned wireless user.
The W-DMX Configurator will have its debut at Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt, March 12-15 in booth #B55, Hall 9. It will also be on display for the first time on the other side of the Atlantic at USITT in Houston, March 20 -22, in booth #1031. Both occasions will offer opportunities for hands-on demonstrations and in-depth discussions about co-existence and other issues related to the increasing use of wireless equipment in entertainment systems.
W-DMX is the perfect solution for applications where running DMX cable is not practical. W-DMX technology uses Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum to avoid interference. Critics worldwide have hailed the system as the number one product for interference-free wireless DMX technology.
