New Architectural Solid-State Lighting Systems from Philips
Reflecting a surge in the use of LED sources to efficiently light urban centers around the globe, Philips Solid-State Lighting Solutions will launch three new exterior lighting innovations at Lightfair International this week in Las Vegas (booth 1721).
The sustainable design movement is gaining tremendous momentum as government agencies and industry organizations increasingly emphasize the importance of environmentally responsible building practices. And while initiatives like the recent Earth Hour help demonstrate the potential cumulative impact of energy conservation, Philips contends that our city structures and skylines need not "go dark" to be energy conscious.
Rapidly advancing LED sources and their ability for digital control make it possible to distinguish building exteriors and landmarks while at the same time curbing energy use and reducing maintenance. In fact, the use of LED illumination for city beautification is growing as some of the world's foremost architects and designers choose the technology to light one-of-a-kind towers, facades, bridges and fountains without the cost or complexity of certain conventional lighting methods. Applications range from spectacular to subtle - whether flood lighting a building with customizable colors or simply accentuating its architectural detail with high-quality white light.
Philips will take this trend further by combining advanced LED technology and system design to introduce three new fixtures engineered specifically for high-performance exterior lighting. In addition to their optimized output, lifetime and durability, the fixtures utilize proprietary Powercore technology - making them easy to use and install as single-cable line voltage systems.
ColorReach Powercore combines unprecedented output and digital control to make LED sources viable for even the largest-scale exterior transformations. With more than 4,000 lumens of output and 400-foot projection, the fixture brings saturated color and dynamic effects to large buildings, monuments, bridges and towers for 21st century, sustainable city beautification.
ColorGraze Powercore is a sleek, linear fixture designed for exterior grazing and wall washing applications of color and color-changing light. It is available in 2-foot, 3-foot and 4-foot lengths, and its slim design and adjustable mounting options accommodate wide-ranging architectural niches.
eW Graze Powercore is a sleek, linear fixture designed for exterior grazing and wall washing applications of high-quality white light. It is available in 1-foot and 4-foot lengths, and in color temperatures of 2700K and 4000K. It is compatible with commercially available ELV-type dimmers, and its slim form factor accommodates even tight architectural niches.
Philips will also showcase a range of its newly available and best-selling solid-state lighting systems at the show, demonstrating breadth of options across a range of output levels.
Highlights will include: eW Downlight SM Powercore - a sleek, competitively priced surface mount downlight for general illumination. Unlike typically larger, surface mount downlights using conventional sources, its low-profile housing allows for easy and unobtrusive installation in wide-ranging interior environments. eW Profile Powercore - a low-profile, linear fixture for common under-cabinet, task lighting and display case applications. It consumes just 6 watts of energy per foot and can support a run of up to 50 feet on a single circuit.
