30th ABTT Theatre Show Annual Awards to be Staged at Church House

Gearing up to celebrate its 30th Birthday, The Association of British Theatre Technician's ABTT Theatre Show will run from June 11th to 12th in London's Royal Horticultural Halls. Over the years the Show has witnessed some of the most ground breaking technical innovations that have set a precedent in revolutionising the world of theatre production.

The ABTT Annual Awards, also in its 30th year, will again be staged on the first night of the show at Church House in Westminster. Presented by one of Britain's most alternative comedians and writers - Arthur Smith - this year's awards are set to recognise new innovations and success stories with companies competing to win one of the six much coveted ‘Hook Clamp' trophies - one of which will be presented to the ABTT Technician of the Year. In addition there is a special ‘Golden Spanner' award from ABTT NorthNet.

In tune with the ethos of the both the ABTT Theatre Show and its eponymous Awards, the Association of British Theatre Technicians is delighted to announce that for this year it will host a new awards ceremony for the ‘Knights of Illumination' - sponsored by Clay Paky in association with the STLD and the ALD. These awards will give public recognition to UK based lighting designers for outstanding achievements across a number of categories, including Theatre, Television and Live Events.
