Academy of Contemporary Music Counts on HK Audio
The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford is one of the leading schools for young people seeking to gain a skill set that will help them launch a career in the music industry. The curriculum encompasses a wide range of studies and classes for people wishing to become professional musicians and event technicians.
Recently the Academy of Contemporary Music made HK Audio its PA brand of choice. The Electric Theatre, the venue located next to the ACM's main building that hosts weekly live performances, is now equipped with a flown HK Audio ConTour Array system comprising six CTA 208 2x8"/4x1" mid-/high-range units and four CTA 118 Sub bass bins. Four D.A.R.T enclosures serve as monitors, while an ELIAS PX provides the drum-fill.
The ACM is also a loyal HK Audio user when it comes to the school's portable rig. This combination of a D.E.A.CON system and D.A.R.T. monitors is compact and flexible, packs a powerful punch, and delivers excellent audio performance. On top of all that, it is remarkably user-friendly. The D.E.A.CON's built-in protective circuits ensure the entire system runs reliably even under critical conditions. All this makes the HK Audio system the perfect PA for the many events and concerts staged by students, such as the Great Escape Festival in Brighton. Before ACM opted for HK Audio, the UK partner JHS & Co. Ltd set up a live demo, which thoroughly convinced the decision-makers at ACM.
The Academy of Contemporary Music and JHS & Co. Ltd aim to extend their cooperation beyond audio equipment bearing the HK Audio brand. Students will be offered the opportunity to travel to HK Audio's facilities for seminars. These fact-finding missions will take them to the St. Wendel plant, where they will see HK Audio products being developed and manufactured on-site, and learn to make the most of these advanced systems.
James Connell, the man in charge of the ACM's equipment and the Electric Theater, notes: "As one of the leading training centers for music education, we opted for HK Audio because that way we are equipped with world-class products. With more than 1,000 students, all the equipment we have at the ACM is used regularly. Both students and tutors praise HK Audio products, especially for their quality and reliability."
