Rosco at IBC 2008

This September sees the exciting introduction of the TruColor IR Camera Filter and three new colours to the Cinegel range of filters from Rosco, which will be unveiled at IBC show in Amsterdam, from 12th to 16th September 2008. Attendees will also have the opportunity to see the successful RoscoView system and have a chat with Rosco's team at the stand G75.
A unique two-part filter system, RoscoVIEW comprises two separate components: RoscoVIEW Film for the window and RoscoVIEW Filter for the camera. The system allows users to instantly control 100% of exterior brightness as seen through windows without affecting the lighting and exposure within a studio or set.
By rotating the RoscoVIEW camera filter, the user is able to change the degree of cross polarization occurring on the window where the RoscoVIEW film is applied, making it unnecessary to constantly change out various ND filters or keep many different types of hard gels on stand-by.
Rosco TruColor IR is a 3.3mm thick optical glass camera filter that restores proper colour saturation in situations where the use of heavy neutral density filter washes out colour. Optically clear and manufactured to be a durable, affordable solution, Rosco TruColor IR balances the visible and infrared light allowing the camera sensors to render proper colour saturation and restores the colour fidelity in the finished composition.
In line with recent changes to the Cinegel packaging, Rosco has updated its swatchbook, adding three new filers to the range: Industrial Vapor, Urban vapour and Tough ¾ Minusgreen.
Industrial Vapor is a correction filter that converts Tungsten to SodiumVapor (Street Lights). The formula came from gaffer Mike Bauman and Cinematographer Matthew Libatique who created the four-filter combination on the set of the blockbuster Iron Man.
Urban Vapor creates the visual reddish-orange appearance of SodiumVapor street lights, without the green content found in actual Sodium Vapor sources. The formula was created by gaffer Dayton Nietert to light his Eiffel Tower set on Rush Hour 3.
Tough 3/4 Minusgreen is the appropriate fluorescent correction for digital photography and video applications.
Samples of Industrial Vapor, Urban Vapor and Tough ¾ Minusgreen will be available from the Rosco stand at the show.
