Stage One has announced the appointment of Simon Graveling (pictured) as its chairman and executive director. Simon is a past vice president of Jack Morton Worldwide, during which time he played a pivotal role in the production of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He is well known in the international events industry with over 25 years senior management experience.
"Simon has been helping us to shape some ambitious growth plans for the next five years and we are delighted that he has agreed to join us to see those plans through," said Mark Johnson, managing director, Stage One. He continued: "He is someone with a considerable depth of industry knowledge and will be able to focus his attention primarily on steering the company as we move forwards, leaving the very strong existing management team to continue to deliver exceptional solutions for our clients. Simon provides fantastic experience and vision to complement our board as we move up a gear."
Graveling is confident in the plans that are shaping up. "Stage One has a great future having amassed an extremely rare combination of in-house capabilities, materials knowledge and technological expertise over the last 20 years." He said. "The company has an enviable international reputation as a reliable, innovative and high value partner to production companies, design teams and architects alike and I am very excited to be joining Stage One at such a positive point in its evolution."
For over 25 years Stage One has provided scenic and technical solutions for the event, entertainment, corporate communication and leisure industries. The company is determined not to lose sight of its core business, for which its team has such passion, experience and expertise, whilst at the same time it looks to the future, addressing natural progressions in the applications of their skills and expertise.
Mark Johnson concluded: "This is a very exciting time for our business and we are looking forward to working with Simon to make the most of the many growth opportunities we have identified."
