Gladiator IV is Followspot of Choice for Summer Stages

Spotrental's popular Gladiator IV followspots have enjoyed a spectacularly successful summer, with multiple units in use by many of the highest profile tours, festivals and concerts of the season, as well as making appearances in TV studios throughout Europe.
Metallica were among the first major acts to specify the durable, 4,500 watt followspot for its shows in Katowice, Poland, and Prague, Czech Republic (where eight units were used in both cities). The company also supplied 2,000 watt Super Troupers for the band's show in Bucharest, Romania.
At the other end of the musical spectrum, a Gladiator IV was used by Dutch television for a promotional video for Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
The major European festival Pinkpop, in Holland, also used eight Gladiator IVs for performances by the likes of Rage Against the Machine, Metallica and the Foo Fighters, as did another Dutch festival, Arrow Classic Rock (with Kiss, Def Leppard, Journey and Whitesnake). Other European festivals featuring the followspot include Rockin' Park and Live at Westerpark.
Meanwhile, Paul McCartney's first ever concert in Kiev, in the Ukraine, saw eight Gladiator IV's deployed.
Spotrental is Europe's largest stockist of US manufacturer Strong, who produce the Gladiator IV. The Dutch company prides itself on its dedicated servicing department which ensures that all spotlights leave their premises in perfectly functioning condition, while also offering onsite technical support in the unlikely event of a malfunction on tour. Additionally, Spotrental looks after all the logistics of delivery and collection for production managers, ensuring thoroughly reliable availability.
A measure of the respect in which Spotrental and its products are held is the fact that Gladiator IV has been specified by the leading international concert lighting company Neg Earth for concerts such as the Foo Fighters in Manchester and Wembley (where six and 14 units were used respectively), plus the Neil Diamond tour, which used six of the spotlights.
"The Gladiator IV has largely been lighting designers' first choice this summer," says Patrick Jordan, managing director of Spotrental. "Strong designed this product to be used in fixed and "on the road" situations such as major tours and outdoor stadium events and we are delighted to provide the specialist professional back up that major productions require. It seems that, with Spotrental's help, Gladiator IV is fully living up to its potential."
