Hi-MaxX Aims Higher

FBT's HiMaxX series of active and passive speakers - widely regarded as one of the finest lightweight systems in the world - gains two new models, this month - the 2-way bi-amped 15" HiMaxX 60a and the 18" band-pass, active 18" subwoofer, the HiMaxX 100Sa.

Both feature B&C designed and manufactured speakers, with bigger neodymium magnets and enhanced ventilation, which delivers an impressive 2dB reduction in power compression. The speakers also feature extra-rigid cones for better suspension linearity and reduced distortion. The compression drivers used in the HiMaxX 60a also feature shorting copper caps for extended, crystal clear HF response.

The polypropylene housed HiMaxX 60a features a 700 Watt RMS Class D amplifier for the woofer and a 200 Watt Class G power amp driving the HF compression driver. It also boast a newly designed control panel with one Gain/Volume pot, XLR/Jack input, XLR-link output, 3-Band EQ, Mic/Line switch, aux-RCA input with separate volume, 3-status leds and ground-lift.

The HiMaxX 100Sa is a 18" band-pass active subwoofer built from 18mm birch plywood, finished with anti-scratch paint. Equipped with a 900W, PWM Class D power amplifier and switch mode power supply, the HiMaxX 100Sa is compact and lightweight. Stereo connection and hi-pass filter are also equipped. The special band-pass acoustic loading increases efficiency and maximum SPL.
