Nitelites Add Earning Power to their Sound Systems

Jamie Moore at Nitelites is a man with his feet firmly on the ground, with several years of touring under his relatively young belt and now at the joint helm of one of the production world's brightest companies, he speaks many a word of wisdom that would impress any company owner in the real world!

"Ultimately at the end of the day we must never lose sight of the fact that we're a hire company providing a service and earning money from doing that. I am interested in products that sound great and perform to, and in some cases exceed, our expectations but I also need products that can earn me money and without a doubt these EX12's have done that and continue to do that because they sound great and are such a versatile product."

Originally looking for a solution for the audio system for their work with many of the country's outdoor athletic events such as The Great North Run and many a half and full marathon around the country, they were introduced to the KV2 EX series by KV2 UK sales manager Mick Butler who immediately arranged for a demonstration of the EX12 active speaker system.

Moore continues: "With the design of the EX12 KV2 has a similar approach to how we put our systems together. Each link in the chain is optimised for best performance; they don't just slap an amp on the back of a cabinet and hope for the best!

"What we have been asked for, with the running events that we handle, is for high quality sound along the length of the run or site and so we tried it with multiple EX12's and the organisers were blown away with the quality that we achieved. You can't do events like that with 100V horns any more, people expect far better quality and intelligibility from the sound system these days. We've also purchased some of the smaller EX6's for use on other events that require a small format high quality solution and they're stunning for such a small box."

The EX12 combines two precisely selected amplifier topologies with complete on-board signal management making for one of the most perfectly balanced and accurate two way active boxes on the market today, utilising KV2's patent pending 3" NVPD large format compression driver and their unique 12" Trans Coil driver that eliminates voice coil inductance, resulting in a flat impedance response above the resonant point. This technology linearises acoustic and electrical phase response, reduces harmonic distortion and increases power transfer and transducer speed. The speaker now behaves like a woofer at lower frequencies and like a mid-range driver at higher frequencies allowing a seamless transition at the crossover frequency.

Moore finishes by adding: "The service and support we've had from KV2 was also a key influence on the decision to buy the EX's. These days it should be a given that products like this are supported to the highest level by the manufacturer and that is definitely the case with KV2 - nothing's too much bother and any problems are easily sorted out. It makes the decision to purchase more that much easier!"
