Stage Electrics' with Lift

Stage Electrics is supplying in house sound and audio visual equipment for the entire run of the Lift Festival. Lift Festival 2008 is an extraordinary programme of international premieres, talks, screenings and participatory events. The festival takes place this summer at Stratford and the Southbank Centre. Since 1981, Lift has been recognised as one of Europe's leading arts festivals, introducing theatre from over 60 countries to venues and unusual sites across London.
At the heart of the festival is The Lift, a ground-breaking mobile venue and meeting place. The Lift hosts performances, exhibitions, workshops, discussions and screenings.
Andrew Sugg, business development manager at Stage Electrics, says: "The project requires a flexible system which can be used for many applications, from live music, dance and film to individual speakers." He continues: "On top of this we have also provided additional sound and audio visual equipment for one off special events such as outdoor film showings. This is the first time The Lift structure has been showcased at a festival like this and it has proved a worthy but satisfying challenge for us."
Stage Electrics and Lift have worked closely on this innovative project to ensure the objectives for the festival were met. Robin Shepherd-Blandy, technical manager at Lift comments: "Involving Stage Electrics in the early part of the system design process has proved to be invaluable, making the systems as flexible as the space itself."
Stage Electrics' list of equipment for the project includes: a Yamaha 32 channel LS9, L'Acoustics 12XT speakers, EAW JF60's, appropriate amplifiers and drive racks, Sennheiser radio microphones, various wired mics, complete sound cabling and a distribution infrastructure. Additional sound for various events includes an EAW line array, appropriate amplification, and cabling infrastructure and further Yamaha LS9's. AV equipment includes previewing monitors, switching, DVD players, Betacam players, all video cabling and a distribution infrastructure. Additional AV for various events includes projection screens and two 10000 lumen projectors.
