5 Star Cases Has Busy 17th PLASA

5 Star Cases celebrated their 17th consecutive year exhibiting at the PLASA 2008 show in Earls Court, London. "The show was buoyant despite the current economic downturn," states 5 Star's head of sales Phil Lawrence, adding that all the signs were looking very positive for a busy autumn at the Wisbech-based company.
The Sunday was particularly hectic, with a constant stream of good potential enquiries and contacts, and Lawrence observes that the quality of visitors was generally "substantially better" in 2008 than previous years.
The main showpiece on the stand was DiGiCo's new SD8 sound console case, which also coincided with their high profile launch of the new product on the first day of the show. DiGiCo - renowned for their eye for detail - again chose 5 Star to produce the case for the new console which is finished in a striking black and gold effect to compliment the aesthetics of the SD8.
5 Star's popular Eurotrucker 3 case was one of the many on display. A universally popular choice for touring companies of all types, Eurotrucker is a general purpose road trunk used for a multitude of applications. The range has recently been upgraded to include an internal PVC lining and a revised removable divider system.
A new lightweight range of trunks is also now available from 5 Star, for situations where weight and cost is an issue. Shown at PLASA was a twin trunk housing the new Qmaxz moving head luminaires from Holland. Built around a 6mm plywood carcass, this case range is aimed at lighter weight equipment, whilst still offering a durable solution for transportation and protection.
