Allen & Heath Installed in Dutch Eco Farm

Situated on reclaimed land in Noordoostpolder, Holland, a state-of-the-art eco farm and unique recreational facility has been established. AV requirements were managed by installers, Face Sound, and all the venue's public areas are fitted with Allen & Heath audio products.
The Brennel Farm's core business is growing stinging nettles, which are harvested to make clothing in the onsite factory. However, the Farm also has a large nature reserve featuring beaches, woods, lakes and walking routes, as well as an education and entertainment centre.
The Farm's public areas comprise a restaurant, meeting room, auditorium and theatre. Two iDR-8 mixing processors with iDR-in expander units provide a 32x16 matrix, linking all rooms together for maximum control and efficiency of the audio distribution. All processing, limiting, mixing and switching is handled by the iDR units. All rooms are equipped with PL-4 remote control wall plates for source selection, and at 2 locations there are PL-8 switch units for emergency and PA announcements. Sources include CD players, iPods, input for microphones, and audio feeds from other areas.
Face Sound's Joop van der Linden designed and installed the system, assisted by TM Audio's Jaap Pronk. Joop commented: "We wanted a simple, easy to use system that met our client's demanding and complex needs. iDR provides convenience, versatility and flexibility in a package that offers great value and good sound quality."
Face Sound also selected an Allen & Heath WZ314:4:2 compact mixer - combined with a Violet Audio surround processor and DVD player - installed in a mobile multi-purpose rack used for live multimedia presentations. Brennel's auditorium is equipped with Allen & Heath ML4000 VCA mixer at FOH with a GL2800M dedicated monitor console for live events and gigs.
