Avolites Rocks at PLASA 08

Avolites enjoyed another incredibly action-packed PLASA exhibition at Earls Court, receiving a fantastic response to the launch of its new Titan operating system for the Pearl and Diamond 4 series of consoles, and an amazing Avolife Aftershow party, which was the talk of the exhibition
Sales director Steve Warren comments: "We had a sensational show! This is our 19th PLASA and I am amazed how we just get busier each year. We saw thousands of people and it proved the perfect opportunity for us to meet up with many industry friends, show them the fantastic Titan operating system and also say thanks for their enormous support throughout the year."
Avo's new operating system release was strongly received and the full team of Avo developers were busy constantly showing off the new features. Titan really impressed all the lighting designers as it has initiated the top six headline features on their collective wish lists.
There was also a sneak preview of Avo's new "Art2000-Conference" portable dimming system. This is designed as a data, moving lights and dimming power and control hub, and a practical, cost effective solution for small-to-medium sized lighting systems. The product is scheduled for launch at Frankfurt 09.
Avo demonstrated the revolutionary digital media server: ‘The Addict Server', which has been developed by Dave Green, Mark Calvert and Ralph Lambert of Pixel Addicts Ltd. as a powerful creative tool for anyone passionate about visuals and design. The product will feature in the new London superclub Matter, opening next week at the O2 Arena (also with several Avolites consoles) and has already wowed the crowds this season at Pete Tong's Eden Ibiza, also controlled by a Diamond 4 Elite.
As ever, the Avolites' Caipirinha Bar proved one of the most popular meeting points of the exhibition for the last hour of the show each day, where visitors to the stand were also treated to some outstanding belly dancing moments by resident dancer Tanya.
Avolites took the opportunity to present the winner of the ongoing ‘Where's My Avo Bag' website competition with a new Dell laptop loaded with Diamond 4 Desktop and other software, a dongle with EZDMX and eight outputs, and a Diamond 4 Pilot mini console. This was won by Chelmsford based freelance LD Chris Doy, whose Avo bag was spotted on Nurai Island near Abu Dhabi ... as he stared into the sea searching for Pearls!
Moving to one of London's hottest night spots - Fabric in Clerkenwell - the 2008 Avolife Aftershow surpassed all the fantastic Avo parties of the past and was enjoyed by over 1400 revellers.
They were treated to assorted performances by No Fit State Circus. Additional entertainment by angle grinder Asha Tank from Luluspanx and snake artist Beth Lee from Xanadu raised the temperatures yet further.
Everyone rose to the occasion in great style, with Steve Warren - fully garbed up in spectacular snazzy red ringmaster outfit - actually mistaken as part of the circus act by Slingco's Nick Dykins!
