Peavey Adds New Elements to MediaMatrix Family at PLASA 2008
Peavey launched several brand new products at PLASA 2008 including some significant additions to the MediaMatrix family.
The first of these is NControl, a Professional Industrial Network PC Server which provides a powerful platform for NION control systems. The NControl PC can be custom configured to monitor and control multiple Nion projects consisting of both Nion digital signal processors and CobraNet Audio Bridges (CABs). Additionally the ControlManager can also monitor and control practically any 3rd party network and/or serial controlled device or equipment. Production for NControl is slated for Q1 2009.
NTouch7 is an ingenious touchscreen control system which runs MediaMatrix's NWare control software on an Embedded Windows XP Platform for a highly cost-effective and reliable all-in-one control solution.
Peavey has also been busy developing control solutions using third-party devices, in particular the now ubiquitous iPod and iPhone. PLASA 2008 saw the first demonstrations of an iPod touch controlling a NION system over Peavey's RATC (Remote Access Terminal Control) Ethernet protocol. This code will be available to consultants and systems integrators wishing to create their own iPhone/iPod remote control applications.
Among the latest updates to NWare, Peavey's proprietary software for programming and controlling MediaMatrix NION digital signal processors, control for the CKi power amplifier range from Crest has been fully integrated into NWare as a standard device. All amplifier functions can now be controlled and monitored from within NWare.
Finally, Peavey was pleased to present an Audinate Dante network interface for NION at PLASA 2008. Production is targeted for Q1 2009, meaning that NION will run on Dante as well as CobraNet networks.
