Renkus-Heinz IC Live and Iconyx R Nominated for PLASA Innovation Awards

The new Renkus-Heinz IC Live and Iconyx R Digitally Beam Steerable Array loudspeakers have both been nominated for the 2008 PLASA Awards for Innovation.

IC Live is a new product line that applies the company's innovative Iconyx Digitally Steerable Array technology to live event production for the first time. IC Live arrays produce narrow vertical beams of 30°, 25° and 20°, steerable up or down by up to 30° at .01° resolution, with wide 150° horizontal dispersion. Seven instant-recall presets store beamwidths and aiming angles. Interlocking hardware allows fast set-up of the IC Live array and matching ICL215S 2x15" subwoofer.

Iconyx R is the second generation of the phenomenally successful Iconyx, the world's first Digitally Steerable Array loudspeaker specifically designed for full-range speech and music applications. It features purpose-designed coaxial transducers, significantly enhancing vertical directivity at high frequencies, with improved coherence and intelligibility, while maintaining consistent wide horizontal dispersion. It can store up to seven preset configurations in onboard memory, recallable locally or remotely.

A multi-channel DSP-driven digital amplifier controls each driver individually, and interfaces with RHAON (Renkus-Heinz Audio Operations Network), for real-time control over multiple functions, and CobraNet, AES or analog inputs. Also new is a slimmer, lighter weight enclosure.

The 2008 PLASA Awards for Innovation will be presented at the PLASA Bar and Lounge at Earls Court on Monday 8 September at 6pm.
