Compulite Vector Greens for UK X-Factor

For the latest X-Factor series that ended in December, a set of three Compulite Vector Green consoles ran a complex lighting rig that included moving lights, media servers, LED screens and conventional fixtures, with the final five episodes produced live.
The UK show, the biggest television talent competition in Europe, attracts an average audience of 10.5 million viewers and no less 182.000 people are auditioned to appear - the winner receiving a £1,000,000 recording contract.
Lighting designer was Dave Davey with programmers Bill Peachment, John Ford and Russ Grubiack. Peachment said: "All three Vector systems performed very well on this fast moving show. We used a vector PC to back up the systems but this was never needed. I think that the Vector is a very fast and flexible desk to program on these complex TV shows."
The lighting rig included: four Vari*Lite VL 3500 washes, 18 Vari*Lite VL 2000 washes, 29 Vari*Lite VL 3000 spots, 22 Vari*Lite VL 3000 washes, two Nova flowers, 18 Vari*Lite VL6c spots, 36 James Thomas PixelPar 90s, 46 James Thomas PixelLine 1044s, 12 Vari*Lite 1k Tungstens, three Pulsar Chroma 12 RGBs, 20 ACL PAR bars, 14 ETC Source 4 Revolutions and 160 conventionals.
Three Hippotizer media servers (v.3) were employed and control include Compulite CompuDim 2000 dimmers and four Compulite ePorts.
