Impressions Deployed on New Year's Eve in Europa Park
For the Tropical Beach Party on New Year's Eve in Europa Park, the giant theme park in Rust (Baden-Wurttemberg), lighting designer Daniel Gündner deployed 16 Impression XLs and 80 Impression 90 RGBs in the Europa Park Dome. The technical direction of the event was the responsibility of Charly's Checkpoint GmbH.
From 20 of the Impression 90 RGB luminaires, Gündner created a matrix that was installed directly behind the DJ position of SWR3 DJ and Master of Ceremonies Jochen Graf, creating a superb lighting ambience. Three Impressions XLs were positioned in front of this matrix, whilst the remaining fixtures were flown from a large circular truss in the centre of the events location.
During the New Year's Eve party, the entire location was transformed into a sun-soaked beach. Palm trees, sand and surfboards combined to create a pleasant, carefree mood, with guests free to help themselves to cocktails and international delicacies from the dozens of refreshment stands. At the World Mix Bar, special ice cocktails were being served-a chilling reminder to partygoers revelling in the tropical euphoria of the minus zero temperatures awaiting them outside.
