World's Largest LCD for Young F1 Engineers

A 108" LCD was the centrepiece of an exhibit at Autosport International 2009, which highlighted the work of the F1 in Schools initiative. It served as a backdrop to the finals of the F1 in Schools national championship, which was held at the show.
Six budding Formula One engineers demonstrated that they have the motoring ‘X factor' over a January weekend. The winners, Team Velocity School student team from St John Payne Catholic Comprehensive School in Essex, designed and raced their way to victory in the finals of the Formula One in Schools Technology Challenge
The F1 in Schools stage set featured the only 108" LCD available for event hire in the UK, sourced from AV specialists PSCo. AV integrators Idium Technology specified the screen to make a big impact for the centrepiece for the charity's national final.
Jon Fagg, director of Idium Technology explained: "We worked with PSCo to install the 108" LCD instead of a rear projection system this year to combat the ambient light in the NEC. With the tight build schedule we had to have quick to install items, the 108" was definitely quick to setup! The clarity and resolution of the screen in an exhibition environment cannot be equalled by a projector, which would need extremely high brightness to compete. The client was delighted and it looked great positioned next to the Formula 1 car on stage!"
The 108" LCD launched recently and is available for event hire. Weighing in at 195kg, PSCo offers a full support package and specialist delivery for the screen, which enables production companies and event managers to specify the screen for awards, exhibitions, conferences and parties alike.
