JR Clancy Shows Newly Enhanced PowerLift at PLASA

J. R. Clancy, the US-based manufacturer of theatre rigging systems, has been busy following up responses to the company's first PLASA show from last month.

"Although we've been a number of times as visitors and are always represented at the show through our distributors, we decided this year to have our own stand so that we could meet both potential and existing users and explain the benefits of Clancy systems," explains international sales manager Charles Shatzkin. "It was a great opportunity to further cement the relationship I began building with theatres and industry consultants when I toured the UK in August."

Shatzkin and the Clancy team, including president Mike Murphy, discussed the full range of products including the SceneControl line of hoist controllers and the newly enhanced PowerLift.

SceneControl is an automated control system which comes in three models - anything from a simple push button controller with start/stop, to a wall or pedestal mounted computer providing top of the range motion control, complete with a 3D visualisation of your performance space.

The new PowerLift hoist comes with electric braking - replacing the Weston style brake previously fitted - and the entry level model now comes with SceneControl 50 as standard. This means that even the most budget-conscious can afford a system which incorporates four user programmable and changeable presets. Manufactured at Clancy's facility in New York State, the PowerLift system has been proven in installations across the Americas and Europe. The PowerLift's dual brake technology
protects the load on both the motor and transmission sides of the hoist, enhancing safety in the unlikely event of a hoist failure (whether with the motor or the transmission).

Clancy is now gearing up for the LDI show in Florida, 20-22 November - booth number 1702.
