nStage 3 Peaks Challenge a Huge Success

nStage 3 Peaks Challenge a Huge Success

Northern Stage Services staff members Paul Hay, Matthew Cassidy, Chris Sharp, Shaun Todd, David Culshaw, David Simpson and Neil Lees, along with support team members James Allen and Andy Anstess, decided on a challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK. They planned to climb Ben Nevis (1344m), Scafell Pike (964m) and Mount Snowdon (1085m) all in under 24 hours, including travelling between the peaks.

The team of seven walkers and two drivers signed up for the challenge in April and put themselves through an Olympian-like training regime in an attempt to improve their fitness levels - they even cut back on the chip shop lunches!

The walkers set off from the nStage office in Shaw and took the long drive up to Fort William to commence the mammoth challenge at 5pm on 18th September. They suffered injuries, sickness and even got lost but with help from the support team and some enthusiastic driving they completed the challenge in 23 hours and 20 mins, reaching the foot of Mount Snowdon at 16.20pm the following day.

Every member of the team found the challenge difficult but they were spurred on by the support of each other and by the people who were kind enough to sponsor them and pledge a donation to Cancer Research UK.

There is still time to sponsor the nStage team and to support Cancer Research UK. With your help they can meet their target of raising £5000. Visit www.justgiving.com/nstage to pledge your donation.
