School Stage Install First Showtec Indigo 250 LED Moving Head in UK

School performing arts installer School Stage, based in Wembley, has installed the first batch of Showtec Indigo 250 LED moving heads into a prestigious install at the new multi-purpose lecture theatre in Gladesmore Community School,.Tottenham, north London.
The installation contained mainly Showtec 3 watt RGB Tri-coloured Par 64 LED Par cans, Showtec 3 watt Tri-coloured LED Studio Beams and four Showtec Indigo 250 LED moving heads.
Chris Newton, MD of School Stage, said: "I heard all of the excitement about the new Showtec LED moving lights at the recent PLASA show, but I was unable to attend the show. I wanted to try something different on this install, rather than install the usual industry movers on this project. The system was 90% LED anyway, to fit in with the building's design and the lighting rig had to be relatively high. I had future access and maintenance on my mind constantly throughout the design. I called Malcolm Burlow, UK sales director for Highlite International, and asked him if all the hype I had heard was true. To which Malcolm replied: ‘Of course, and even better, I can bring a fixture to your venue to try out'. So we arranged to meet at a local school we had just completed to try it out.
I have to say I was very sceptical to think a Showtec LED moving head could be as bright and sharp as a standard MSD 250 moving head, and thought no chance and had something else tucked away to one side just in case. Well, how wrong I was. These lights are certainly just as stunningly bright and sharp and would stand up beside any other 250 moving head. I am delighted with their performance and amazed at such technology. Malcolm also quickly arranged with Zero 88 to have the personality written for the desk I was using and e-mailed to us. I will certainly be using these fixtures in future installs."
The Showtec Indigo 250 LED Moving Head is the flagship moving head in their new range of 5 led Moving heads. The unit has 27 x 5 watt (white) LEDs, rotating gobo wheel with seven rotating gobo's, a static gobo wheel with seven gobo's, an interchangeable gobo system, gobo shake, a colour wheel with seven vivid colours and open white, built-in Marco via DMX, three-facet rotating prism, 8 or 16 bit movement, 15 degree beam angle, full focus and dimming via DMX, auto correction system for pan and tilt., and uses 15 channels of DMX.
