Export Trade Award for Le Mark

Le Mark Group has won the UKTI Passport to Export "Most Effective International Communications Award" at the Global Opportunities Conference held on the 19th November at the Newmarket Rowley Mile Conference Centre.
Stuart Gibbons, Le Mark's managing director received the award from the Lord Digby Jones, U.K Business Ambassador for UKTI. Lord Jones is a true captain of industry holding previous posts including Minister of State for Trade and Director-General of the CBI.
Stuart Gibbons commented: "Winning an award of this magnitude and receiving it from Lord Jones was a personal thrill. It is testament to the hard work and innovative methods that Le Mark has committed to building an envious reputation for great products and service around the world. To support this development the management team looked to recruit native speakers where possible. Le Mark is very proud to include employees from Eastern Europe that regularly use their language skills to talk to our customers in Poland, Russia and Latvia. This project has continued to evolve when Le Mark recently paid host to visiting fire officer clients from EMERCOM, Moscow Fire & Rescue Division. Le Mark has developed a special ‘super tough' all weather self fusing tape that will bond in the extreme cold of a Russian winter.
"Despite difficult global trading conditions, Le Mark has continued to develop new products and increase the market share. I believe that this region continues to produce some of the best business. Despite the well documented recession there continues to be opportunities for companies who were prepared to take the challenge and seek export opportunities. To do this each business needs to show a commercial ‘X Factor'- winning this award I believe proves we definitely have it".
Stuart also commented: "While some banks have received very bad press during the last 18 months I want to most sincerely thank ours, HSBC, which has advised and supported us in both our export and UK efforts. Without a doubt we could not have won this award without their full support."
As people may know from his continued association with Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce and the recently formed Global Trade Network, where Stuart holds the position of vice chairman, he is a proud promoter and ambassador of Huntingdonshire and never misses an opportunity to promote the area to other business around the world.
