M6 High Performance Stage Monitor from d&b audiotechnik

M6 High Performance Stage Monitor from d&b audiotechnik

While the d&b audiotechnik M4 has found wide acceptance in the world of stage monitoring, there are still frequent requests from the markets for a slightly smaller 12" monitor. In answer to these requests, the visual design of the M4 monitor has been adapted to reduce the profile and accommodate a similar type of 12" coaxial driver. The amplifier configuration also has specific characteristics to give the M6 a performance completely compatible with M4 in both gain and sound character in the frequency band above 180 Hz.

The M6 is a low profile 2-way high performance stage monitor employing an integrated 12"/1.3" exit coaxial driver with a CD horn and passive crossover network. The M6 distinguishes itself through a remarkable midrange presence and a dry and compact low end. Its 50° x 80° coverage, combined with excellent feedback stability, high sensitivity and discreet design, ensures the M6 lines up perfectly with both the M4 and d&b's state of the art M2 monitor. When powered by the D6, the M6 delivers 132 dB SPL and powered by the D12 it achieves 135 dB SPL in passive mode.

It can optionally be operated in 2-way active mode by changing the D12's configuration without any modifications to the loudspeaker and achieves an SPL of 138 dB SPL. At a mere 16 kg (35 lb) with a footprint of 486 mm (19.1") x 455 mm (18") and a height of 332 mm (13.1") it comes with integrated handles, M10 threaded inserts and a hidden socket to accept a loudspeaker stand. Recessed runners in the bottom panel protect the cabinet from scratching and reduce movement. Used in an upright position the M6 serves as a PA loudspeaker with an 80° x 50° dispersion suitable for a variety of smaller applications. Firmware and software updates including the M6 are available for download under the relevant sections within the Support/Downloads on the dbaudio website. These provide configurations for all current d&b amplifiers and the latest version of R1 Remote control software.
