Paradigm and GestureTek Show Autonomy and Interactivity at ISE

This month's ISE Show in Amsterdam provided Paradigm Audio Visual with the perfect opportunity to present GestureTek video gesture control technology, which it is representing for the first time in the UK, while at the same time rebranding itself.
Paradigm founder, Greg Jeffreys, remarked: "On the one hand we wanted to show GestureTek as an independent brand - rather than something that exists under the Paradigm umbrella; but at the same time we demonstrated the synergy that can be achieved by combining their motion capture cameras with our own superior HD media."
The attention-grabbing impact of the stand was no better represented, said Jeffreys, than with the Paradigm Trojan 110 HD, linked to GestureTek's camera-based Screen Xtreme - an immersive, interactive digital signage solution.
"This is the element we were most pleased with and it was also the most simple," he said. "It allowed people to interact with the screen in true life-size, which really unlocked the potential."
Using a genuine HD 1080p resolution display demonstrated Paradigm's commitment and capability, while the GestureTek Multi-Touch Table - upgraded by Paradigm to HD 1080p - also created a huge amount of interest.
While the stand was conceptual and attention grabbing, everything on display could be purchased or hired immediately, emphasised Jeffreys.
The stand also sent out a clear message for the future. "Interactivity is the real buzz word but the basic thing now is to find the real needs of the market," he stated. "At Paradigm, we've been involved with technologies to do with digital signage for a long time. This has now taken off, with the result that customers are looking at producing targeted and very specialised displays during the coming year."
The fact that many visitors already knew about GestureTek and the multi-touch/immersive principle stimulated a lot more specific interest. "It was important that we were able to raise this concept to new levels, and make a big, highly convincing technology statement."
Finally Greg Jeffreys confirmed that the company had returned from the show having written firm orders. "We were concerned about the credit crunch and the wider economy - but we got no signals to that effect at all."
